Zelensky Welcomes Approval of New US Military Aid

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the approval of new US military assistance, stating that this aid will save thousands of Ukrainian lives.

He expressed hope that the bill would soon be passed by the US Senate and sent to Joe Biden, the President of the United States.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "Thanks to each and every one, who supported our package: this is the decision to protect lives. I would like to personally thank Speaker Mike Johnson and all American hearts who, like us in Ukraine, feel that Russian evil must not win. I hope that the package will get considered in the US Senate and forwarded to President Biden fast enough."

The US House of Representatives recently passed a bill providing new military aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

The value of this US military aid is $95 billion, with more than $60 billion allocated to Ukraine, $26 billion to Israel, $9.1 billion for humanitarian needs in Gaza and Sudan, and $8.12 billion for securing the Indo-Pacific region and Taiwan.

A member of the US House of Representatives said: "On this vote, the yeas are 360 and the nays are 58. The bill is passed without objection. A motion to reconsider is laid on the table."

The bill is expected to be approved by the US Senate next week.

President Joe Biden has also urged the US Senate to swiftly pass the bill and send it to him for signing.
