Officials: Weapons Found in House-to-House Searches

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on the ninth day of house-to-house inspections said that they discovered various military weapons while conducting house-to-house searches.

Officials of the Ministry of Defense said that the house-to-house searches that are ongoing in Kabul and several other provinces are beneficial for security in the country.

“We have found many light and heavy weapons, and ammunition--Kalashnikovs, M4s, M16s, rockets, PK machine guns and rocket launchers and even Humvee tanks,” said Enayatullah Khwarazmi, spokesman of the Ministry of Defense.

Hakimullah Latifi is a member of the Islamic Emirate who oversees the house-to-house inspections.

He called on the security forces to respect the citizens during the inspections.

“I think it will be effective if they carry out this process with patience and dignity,” said Latifullah Hakimi, a member of the Islamic Emirate.

Meanwhile, some citizens said they welcomed the process of house-to-house inspections by the Islamic Emirate.

“We are very satisfied and happy. They came into our house with a lot of humanity and respect,” said Hedayatullah, a citizen of Kabul.

The ninth day of the house-to-house searches in Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, and some other provinces has drawn criticism from citizens and international institutions.
