Dozens of Orphans Receive Aid in Khost

Dozens of orphans were provided with donations from a charity group on Sunday in the province of Khost.

The members of this group said they are attempting to address the problems of orphans across the country.

The committee is named Qari Saeed Khosty Darul Yatam, which recently provided aid to 140 orphans.

“They have helped us in such a critical condition. We are very happy because of them,” said Shabir Ahmad, an orphan.

“We are happy because of those who sent us this aid. We the orphans have not received aid in the past,” said Baitullah, an orphan.

“Today in Khost, the families in need were provided aid totaling one million Afs,” said Imranullah, a member of the charity group.

The orphans called on the aid organization to support them as they face dire challenges.

According to the members of the group, each orphan was provided with 7,500 Afs and some food.

The provincial department for Martyrs and Disabled Affairs said that it has recorded 700 orphan families who lost their breadwinners and are in grave need of help.

“We call on other aid organizations to provide donations to the orphans,” said Abdul Rahim, head of the department.

As Afghanistan is facing an economic crisis, a major part of its population is living under the poverty line, with millions facing starvation.
