The acting minister of justice, Abdul Hakim Sharei, confirmed Saturday during a ceremony involving several religious scholars in Kabul that the leader of Hezb-e-Islami, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, has been moved from his previous residence to another location.

Sharei also stated that they had given Hekmatyar several months to vacate his residence.

Abdul Hakim Sharei said: "We gave him time until the end of Hoot [last month in the Afghan calendar], and when the time came, the elders said to wait until we find a suitable place for him. A place was prepared as per his wishes, and he was relocated. Now, do you consider this respect or disrespect? If this is disrespect, then you do not understand respect."

The acting minister of justice emphasized in the program that the current government is not experiencing a legal vacuum, and all the laws of the caretaker government are derived from the Quran, Sunnah, and Hanafi jurisprudence.

Sharei added, "There is no legal vacuum, there was none, and there will not be any. If you understand that the book of Allah, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah is the basis, and you still say that there is no constitution, that there is a vacuum, then you should reconsider your faith."

He also mentioned in part of his speech that more land-grabbing occurred during the previous government than at any other time.

The acting minister of justice said: "Usurpation exists, especially the usurpation that occurred in the past administration, which is unparalleled in history."

The acting minister of justice further added that laws in some ministries and directorates have been endorsed by the leader of the Islamic Emirate and he hopes that in the future, all these laws will be compiled under one law.

He also denied claims that he has a personal prison, saying that some circles are trying to create concerns among the public.
