Jowzjan Jogis Demand Permanent Shelters, Schools, and Health Centers

In Jowzjan province, the Jogis have been calling on the interim government to create permanent shelters, schools, and health centers.

They have been living on government and privately owned lands for years and claim they lack access to even the most basic living facilities.

Abdul Majid, a resident of Jowzjan, said: "We have been living here for ten years, and nobody cares about us."

Nematullah, another resident, stated: "There is no school here for our children to attend, and moreover, they do not issue us identification cards."

Jumah Khan, also from Jowzjan, expressed: "We have no land, no clinic, no drinking water; we are strangers here."

However, officials at the Department of  Borders and Tribes, in Jowzjan speak of efforts aimed at addressing the challenges faced by the Jogi community in the province.

Gholam Nabi Samim, the head of the Department of Borders, Ethnicities, and Tribes in Jowzjan, stated: "Care is being provided for them, whether in the fields of education, health, or other sectors."

According to local officials in Jowzjan, currently, about 30 Jogi families live in the province; however, they are deprived of basic services.
