At least 12 Taliban including commander “Qari Samiullah” were killed and seven others were wounded in an “Afghan air forces targeting airstrike” in the northeast province of Badakhshan province on Wednesday night, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement on Thursday.
The airstrike took place in Nusai district at a “Taliban recruitment center,” the MoD said in the statement.
“In this airstrike, some weapons and vehicles of the Taliban were also destroyed,” it said.
However, the statement did not provide further details.
Taliban have not yet commented on the operation.
