President Ashraf Ghani on Thursday left Kabul for Germany to participate at the 53th Munich Security Conference, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.

Ghani will raise the issues of terrorism, extremism and security concerns of Afghanistan at the conference, the statement said.

He will meet with heads-of-state from other countries – including the German Chancellor, the U.S. deputy president, presidents of Azerbaijan and Croatia, prime ministers of Turkey, Norway and Georgia as well as the United Nations commissioner and many other foreign authorities.

A strategic agreement will be signed between Afghanistan and the European Union by Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi and Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi, President Ghani’s senior advisors Ahmad Nader Naderi and Mohammad Humayun Qayumi are accompanying the president in this trip, the press release added.
