BAZAR: Iran Border Process And TAP Plans Discussed

At the sixth Joint Economic Meeting between Afghanistan and Iran, officials of both nations agreed that Afghan goods trucks can cross into Iran without having to present bank guarantee letters. 

In addition, border tariffs will also decrease.

Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MoCI) officials on Monday said both sides recognize the need to implement the World Road Association agreement and to lower transit costs.

In addition, following the ground-breaking ceremony of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) gas pipeline project in Herat on Friday, officials from energy and water ministry said they have signed the Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan (TAP) power project agreement.

According to the officials, the TAP project will transmit 500 kilovolts of power from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan and will run alongside the TAPI pipeline.  

Host Mohammadi will discuss the topic with Reza Haidari senior adviser to the energy minister. 

In addition, host Mohammadi discusses problems around government pensions with labor ministry spokesman Abdul Fattah Eshrat Ahmadzai.
