Some doctors at the Torkham migrant camp said that they have treated about two thousand sick immigrants who have returned from Pakistan.

Doctors added that they are ready to provide better health services to Afghan immigrants.

“There are children, women and men who are sick here, among them are surgical patients, most of the patients who cannot be treated here we send them to the center. So far, we have treated 1,112 people and we are still serving our countrymen,” said Salahuddin Ayubi, head of the military hospital of Khaled bin Walid Corps.

“The health team treated nearly five hundred people since last night. All those patients who could not be treated here, we transferred them to Nangarhar Central Hospital,” said Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation.

Some of the immigrants who have returned from Pakistan asked international institutions to establish more medical centers for them.

"The Ministry of Public Health should increase health teams here as soon as possible,” Adam Khan, a returnee told TOLOnews.

Shafiullah, 32, who has recently returned to the country from Pakistan, is currently undergoing treatment at Torkham Hospital.

"They help us not only in the treatment of our patients, but also in the field of food and tents as much as they can,” he told TOLOnews.

This comes as the Commission for Addressing the Problems of Immigrants has established twelve committees, including the health committee, to address the conditions of immigrants returning from Pakistan.
