Afghan National Dies of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia

A 51-year-old Afghan national died of the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, the first casualty from the virus in that country.

According to Ashraq al-Aswat, Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Abdelali said at a briefing that the man’s health deteriorated quickly after reporting to a hospital emergency room in the city of Madinah and he died on Monday night.

The Saudi Arabian health ministry reported 205 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing to the Kingdom’s total to 676.

Saudi Arabia on Monday imposed a nighttime 21-day curfew.

Violators will be fined 10,000 riyals and it will be doubled for repeat offenders, according to the ministry.

According to Ashraq al-Aswat, more than 1,300 coronavirus infections have been detected in the Gulf region.
