US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad says he had “more productive” meetings last week with the Taliban than he has had in the past.

“Meetings here were more productive than they have been in the past. We made significant progress on vital issues,” he said in a tweet on Saturday night.
