Afghans, who celebrated the first day of Eid on Sunday, welcomed the fact that no security incidents were reported at mosques in the country during the morning’s key prayer services.

This was particularly welcomed by Kabul residents.

Atta Mohammad Noor, the executive director of Jamiat-e-Islami party and governor of northern Balkh province, on Sunday morning delivered his Eid message at the Blue Mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif and again called on the National Unity Government (NUG) to bring reforms to government institutions including security bodies.

He said if this does not happen, people will be mobilized to hold demonstrations.
