TAWDE KHABARE: Intra-Afghan Talks Discussed
The High Council for National Reconciliation announced that talks will start next week following the completion of the prisoner release process.
The council said that the Taliban has agreed to sit down at the negotiating table in a week's time, after the release of all their prisoners.
The Taliban has said the main preconditions for starting the talks with the Afghan government is the release of all their prisoners.
According to sources, the Taliban has released four Afghan army commandos, and the Afghan government has released 200 of the remaining "hardcore" Taliban prisoners. Sources say the process is almost complete, and the talks are expected to begin in Qatar.
