Mother of 3 Sons Injured by War Calls for Aid

An Afghan mother whose three sons have been paralyzed in war has arrived in Kabul from Kunduz province to seek justice and support from the government for her sons.

Malika,  mother of the three, threatened to set herself ablaze if the government and the president do not hear her voice and provide  medical treatment for her sons who were badly wounded in the line of the duty in the ranks of the Afghan security forces.

According to Malika, one of her sons has lost one of his legs, another one lost one arm and the third one lost an eye.

One of her sons, named Samiullah, was serving in the Afghan Public Protection Force and he lost one of his arms during battles in Kunduz.

The second son Naqibullah lost a leg in an explosion in Torghundi district of Herat.

The third son was badly wounded in an explosion near his check point.

“My children were wounded, I did not cry, I took my scarf and tightened it on my waist, now I want the president to do the same and transfer them to the hospital,” said Malika.

Malika said that she prepared medicines for her children while they were admitted to the hospital.

“I feel pain when I see my sons, sometimes I think to cut myself into pieces, Ashraf Ghani has sent a piece of meat to my home,” said Malika, referring to her paralyzed son.

TOLOnews’ reporter did not manage to seek a comment from the Ministry of Defense.

This is not the first time that the wounded officers of the Afghan security forces complained about a lack of attention from the government.

In the past, many other families similar to Malik's complained about the government’s failure to provide medical treatment for their sons.
