Commission: 30 Individuals Return to Country in Past Two Months

The Commission for the "Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures" reports that more than 30 former government officials, including military and political elites, have returned to the country in the past two months.

According to Ahmadullah Wasiq, the commission's spokesperson, since the formation of this panel, almost 700 individuals have returned to the nation, and this process is still ongoing.

"Nearly 30 people have returned in the last two months. Yesterday, Yusuf Nuristani, the former head of the Independent Election Commission, and Maryam Kofi, the former Takhar representative in parliament, came to the country,” Wasiq added.

Meanwhile, some political figures who have returned to the country asked the current government to expand the work of this commission.

"I believe it is better if the focus is on the youth and those who are professionals, especially in the fields of infrastructure, economy, and finance, if they are invited and come to Afghanistan, as they will be used effectively," said Amanullah Ghalib, former head of Breshna company.

Some political analysts said that the government should provide employment opportunities to these figures after they return to the country.

"We should employ these cadres around the country. We ask the government to hire experienced individuals,” said Amanullah Hotaki, a political analyst.

The commission's spokesperson, Ahmadullah Wasiq, pledged that everyone who returns to the nation is immune. He noted that since the commission's activities began, hundreds of persons who have returned to the country have received immunity cards.
