Afghan Women’s Satisfaction Level Lowest in World: Gallup

Gallup Institute in a recent survey said that the satisfaction level of the Afghan women for their freedom and  social life in Afghanistan is at the bottom in comparison with other countries.

Just 11% of Afghan women are satisfied with their social freedom in Afghanistan, Gallup said.

But the Islamic Emirate called this survey invalid and, referencing the wars in the country over several decades, said that the suffering of Afghan women has ended now.

Gallup found in the recent survey that the level of women's satisfaction with life in Afghanistan is the lowest among the countries in the world surveyed by Gallup so far.

Based on this survey which was done in July, just 11% of women in Afghanistan  are satisfied with their social freedom.

In this survey, 17% of women in Afghanistan said that they are treated with respect and in this survey, it is also stated that women in Afghanistan live in suffering.

The survey indicated:

Record-low 11% of Afghan women are satisfied with freedom, nearly all of the country’s women continue to face suffering, 17% of women say women in Afghanistan are treated with respect.

"After talking about consent and dealing with the rights of women who have been deprived of education for more than two years, there are prohibitive commands in the field that caused us not to have our best cadres with us in this period,” said Suraya Paikan, a women’s right activist.

But the Islamic Emirate called Gallup's survey invalid and said that women's rights are secured in the country.

Zabihullah Mujahid referred to the wars in the country for several years, and said that the suffering of Afghan women has ended now.

"The suffering is that the people of Afghanistan, women and men, lived under terror and crime for twenty years, their children and families were killed in front of their eyes. It was a bad situation for Afghans, our women suffered a lot, but now the situation has changed a lot, our women have their dignity and modesty,” Zabihullah Mujahid said.

Meanwhile, Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Chargé d'Affaires of Afghanistan's Permanent Mission to the UN, in this conference said that any interaction with the Islamic Emirate must be conditional on respecting the rights of Afghan women and girls.

“Ensure that any interaction with the ruling Taliban authorities in Afghanistan is conditional on respecting the rights of the Afghan people, including the rights of women and girls and other groups," said Muhibullah Tayeb, adviser of the human rights department of the Afghan permanent representation in Geneva.

In a part of the Gallup Institute's report, concern has been expressed about the deportation of 1,700,000 Afghan refugees from Pakistan and that the lives of the deported women and girls are once again under pressure.
