Incoming Turkish Envoy Says Ankara Ready to Cooperate with Afghans

The newly appointed ambassador of Turkey, Cenk Ünal, said that his country is ready to cooperate with the people of Afghanistan in various areas.

Speaking at an event marking the arrival of a Turkish delegation aiming to modernize the university entrance process, Ünal said:

“We are ready to cooperate with the Afghans in every area. We value increasing capacity of Afghanistan not in one field but in all fields. We also have good experience,” Ünal said.

Addressing the same gathering, Abdul Baqi Haqqani said Turkey’s support in various fields with Afghanistan is important.

“May Turkey continue its assistance in various field of the government, particularly in the educational and higher educational fields,” Haqqani said.

A member of the delegation said that the new system will bring many facilities in the examination process.

“In Turkey, the major examination is the university entrance exams, in which around 3 million high school graduates participate. They are being provided with 50,000 new questions every year. We are ready to cooperate in implementation of the university entrance system,” he said.

Earlier, the acting head of the National Examination Authority said that the university entrance system will be reformed.
