Kabul Police: Over 2,000 Criminal Suspects Arrested in 6 Months

The Kabul Security Command said that in the past six months, more than two thousand suspects have been arrested in connection with various crimes in Kabul.

The Kabul police command's spokesperson, Khalid Zadran, said that in the past six months more than two thousand cases of murder, theft, arms smuggling and various crimes have been registered in Kabul.

The spokesperson said that efforts are being made to provide security in Kabul in a better way and to prevent criminal and terrorist incidents.

“We assure all the people, media, national businessmen, investors and also all the residents of Kabul of full security. Security is provided throughout Afghanistan,” Mohammad Shaker Saeed, deputy of the Kabul police command said.

According to Zadran, the command has conducted more than 500 anti-narcotics operations in Kabul, and more than 600 people have been arrested in these operations.

During the anti-drug operations, the following drugs have been found:

628.4 kilograms of heroin, 904.102 kilograms of Methamphetamine, 460 grams of crystal, and 16,831 K tablets—61,631 Zeegab, Talin, and Tramadol tablets—were discovered. There were 480.14 kg of chemicals, 603.11 kg of opium, and 485.129 kg of hashish.
“As a result of a series of investigative operations, this command has arrested 43 people in relation to various terrorist cases,” the Kabul police command's spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, some Kabul residents said that there are still some incidents of theft and crime in Kabul and they asked the Ministry of Interior to pay serious attention to this matter.

"We ask the Islamic Emirate that they should do more to ensure the safety of the people,” Khushal Tawhidyar, a resident of Kabul, told TOLOnews.

According to data from the Kabul Security Command, over the last six months, there have been 21 physical incidents, 12 verbal incidents, 29 fire incidents, and 119 traffic issues that have been addressed in Kabul.
