Abdul Hakim Haqqani, Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled in a special interview with TOLOnews said that families of martyrs and disabled persons of both the Islamic Emirate and former government are treated the same.
The Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled said that the ministry has registered over 620,000 families of martyrs and disabled up to now.
“For every person, 2000 Afghanis are paid if he/she is a widow or an orphan. The number of widows and orphans registered with the Islamic Emirate is 120,000 to 130,000,” he added.
Abdul Hakeem Haqqani also said that efforts to establish educational and professional centers for martyrs and disabled families in the whole country continue. According to him, compensation to the martyrs’ families is paid every six months by the Islamic Emirate.
"Orphans, the former government's military, and ordinary people get the same 2,000 as all the Islamic Emirate military's families," the Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled said.
Haqqani said that at the start of the year, the budget of the ministry was 12 billion Afs, but because of the lack of budget, it decreased to 11 billion Afghanis.
“We say that approximately 5 billion should be added to this budget. We give 100% assurance to the leadership of the Emirate and the families of the martyrs and the disabled that it will cover everyone,” he said.
According to the Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled, there is only one educational and professional studies center in Kabul for the disabled and children. The ministry is trying to create more educational and professional study centers in all zones and provinces.
