7 MOBY Group Employees Killed on January 20, 2016, Remembered

Today, January 20, marks the eight anniversary of the death of seven MOBY Group employees who lost their lives in an attack in Kabul in 2016.

A blast targeted a vehicle carrying MOBY Group employees on Dar ul-Aman Road that left seven people dead and more than 20 others wounded.

Ali Jan Rasouli is one of the employees of MOBY Group who was injured in this blast.

“My face was burned and I was in the middle of the car and my hands burned and up to 12 pieces of shrapnel are still in my face,” Ali Jan said.

The seven employees of MOBY Group who lost their lives in the blasts were Mohammad Jawad Hussaini, Zainab Mirzaee, Mehri Azizi, Mariam Ibrahimi, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Ali Mohammadi, and Hussain Amiri.

“We ask the Islamic Emirate to try to protect the lives of journalists, so that the people of Afghanistan do not witness the death of journalists or the citizens of Afghanistan,” said Farhad Behroz, deputy head of the Afghanistan Independent Journalists Association (AIJA).

This attack on a car carrying MOBY Group employees sparked reactions in the country and abroad.
