One Civilian Killed, 17 Others Injured in Paktika Twin Blast

At least one civilian was killed and 17 others were injured in twin blasts in southeastern Paktika province on Wednesday morning, local officials said.

The blast took place in Sharana, the capital of the province. The first blast was caused by a grenade which was thrown by a man and the second went off minutes later, local officials said.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and "four of the wounded people are not in a stable condition and will be transferred to Kabul," according to officials.

The police have started investigations but no arrests have yet been made, officials added.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
