Man Kills 10 Members of His Family in Nimroz

A man shot and killed 10 members of his family on Sunday evening in Zaraj, the capital of Nimroz province.

According to local officials, the casualties included five children, four women including a pregnant woman, and a man.

The murderer succeeded in escaping the area.

“(He) has killed his wives and children. He came to my house and opened fire on my sisters and brothers, he opened fire on my older brother but he was in the bathroom, so he was saved,” said Abdul Salam, a relative of the victims.

“It was around 5pm, the people gathered, and everyone was shocked,” said Abdul Qayoum, a neighbor of the family.

The local officials said that the incident happened in PD2 of the city.

The officials said that efforts are underway to arrest the killer.

“His name is Wais, son of Toor Jan. He is from Farah but lives in Nimroz but he, unfortunately, martyred his family members,” said Bahram Haqmal, a spokesman for the Nimroz security department.
