Mazar Municipality Says Tax Revenue Increased, Planning Public Works

Officials of the Municipality in Mazar-e-Sharif said that the revenue of the department has increased by 240 million afghani since last year.

“Our target was 512 million and now our revenue is more than our target-- there was a 240 million afghani increase,” said Naqib Ullah Tariq, mayor of Mazar-e-Sharif.

The mayor of Mazar province said that the work on 24 big projects is going to start in this city in the coming year.

“We have a plan for 24 big projects that we will start in the city,” said Naqib Ullah Tariq, mayor of Mazar-e-Sharif.

Meanwhile, some Mazar residents welcomed the Municipality works in the city but said this is not enough.

“In the city, they have had good activities--they work on roads and side roads,” said Fayaz Kazimi, a Mazar resident.

“In some areas, the roads are damaged and we called on the Municipality to pay attention in this regard,” said Abdul Basir, a Mazar resident.

According to the municipality of Mazar-e-Sharif, the lack of corruption and timely collection of taxes are the main reasons for the increase in income in the past year.
