Afghan American Chamber of Commerce Holds Event in Dubai

Haji Obaidullah Sader Khail, head of the Afghan business council in the UAE, said an event in Dubai organized by the Afghan American Chamber of Commerce was attended by many Afghan Business Council members as well as AACC President Jeff Greico, AACC members, donors and other guests, and the participants “discussed the Afghan private sector development.”

Sader Khail, who participated in the meeting, said that the meeting discussed the banking and visa challenges as well as problems ahead of the Afghan traders.

“In this meeting, the countries which are currently providing assistance to Afghanistan discussed the assistance today,” he said.

Economists said that there is a need for the implementation of infrastructural projects.

“The aid organizations need to transparently distribute the aid to vulnerable people and at the same time, economic assistance should be delivered to small and medium projects,” said Seyar Qureshi, an economist.

The deputy minister of the Economy, Abdul Latif Nazari, said that humanitarian aid has not been able to solve the economic challenges of the citizens in the country.

Nazari said that there is a need to work on major development projects in the country.

“The infrastructural projects such as CASA-1000 and TAPI have an important role in the economic development of Afghanistan, therefore, we call on the international organizations, particularly the World Bank, to support these projects because it will cause economic growth in the region,” he said.

Earlier, the World Bank said in a report that the UN has provided $760 in cash for Afghanistan.
