Dep. Interior Minister: TTP- Islamabad Dialogue 'Good Option’

Mohammad Nabi Omari, the deputy minister of Interior, during a group Iftar (fast breaking) program in Khost province said that the disputes of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with the government of Pakistan have caused the international community to find excuses against the caretaker government of Afghanistan.

Omari called on the TTP to resolve its existing disputes with the government of Pakistan.

The deputy minister of Interior, said: "We ask the government of Pakistan and advise the brothers who are fighting with them to come together and talk. We have seen war and revolution; these wars and revolutions leave behind widows and orphans, destroy the homeland, and ruin the economy."

Mohammad Nabi Omari also pledged that there is no terrorist activity in Afghanistan.

He added: "Now the world makes excuses that terrorists are present here [in Afghanistan] and that Al-Qaeda exists. I swear, based on our information and in contact with all provinces, there is not a single Al-Qaeda member in Afghanistan."

Military and political analysts believe that Pakistani authorities should focus on their country's security instead of making baseless claims against Afghanistan.

"Whenever a citizen of a country gets involved in an issue in another country, it doesn't mean that their country is also involved with them. They might have acted based on their personal opinion and belief, accusing another country is an unfair act," said Gul Mohammaduddin Mohammadi, another analyst.

This comes as the Defense Minister of Pakistan once again claimed yesterday (Tuesday) that Afghanistan is a source of terrorism, and he asked the Islamic Emirate to destroy the TTP training camps in Afghanistan.
