Kabul Residents Stress Need for Unity, Compassion on First Day of Eid

The first day of Eid al-Fitr was celebrated in a secure environment in Kabul and other provinces of the country.

Residents of the capital, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, said unity and compassion among the country's citizens is important.

Bidar Zazai, a resident of Kabul, said: "We performed the Eid prayers and we hope that there will always be peace, happiness, and security in Afghanistan."

Mohammad Munir, another resident of Kabul, said: "I urge the country's citizens to travel to the provinces, visit them because Eid is very good and there is security in every province."

Meanwhile, several other residents, on the first day of Eid, emphasize unity among the country's citizens.

Mohammad Amin, a resident of Kabul, said: "Forgive each other, embrace your brothers, visit each other's homes, go to the homes of neighbors, and inquire about those who are in trouble."

Esmatullah, a resident of Kabul, said: "May Allah grant that Muslims always live in peace like this and abandon enmity."

Eid is one of the Islamic festivals celebrated twice a year, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and is observed by Muslims around the world including Afghanistan.
